The University of Toledo is offering a FREE Summer Math Club program for students ages 10–14, led by three distinguished mathematics scholars.

WHITMER SENIORS ONLY: This is for senior spirit week starting on Monday May 18th.

TOMORROW!

STAFF SHOUT:
"Nurse Amy is a dedicated school nurse. She is frequently referred to as the “school doctor” by students; and occasionally “Urse Namy.” On a daily basis, she completes her school nurse obligations by providing Band-Aids, medication, and taking temperatures. However, she wears many hats as she is taking care of our students. Besides being the school nurse, Nurse Amy has listened to students with somatic complaints like a therapist, fixed brace wires like an orthodontist, administered lotion on an hourly basis for dry skin like a dermatologist, taught students to nourish their bodies like a nutritionist and to hydrate to prevent headaches like a neurologist, and endless encouragement and love like a mother. Nurse Amy is in contact with many families and medical practices to ensure students are receiving wrap-around care between home and school in order to increase performances at school. We love our Nurse Amy at Meadowvale and appreciate all she does for our students, staff, and families!"
This hit the nail on the head! Our nurses truly wear ALL the hats and Nurse Amy is a fantastic example!

Their support doesn’t end when the school day is over—they’re in the stands, on the sidelines, and always showing up to cheer their students on. NEIGHBOR SHOUT:
"One of the students from McGregor was riding his bike home after-school and fell. This crossing guard saw his fall and saw that his pants got stuck in his bike chain. She immediately helped get his pants unstuck from his bike! I was just a neighbor diving by and saw this happen and wanted to recognize her! All I know is that she works at McGregor Elementary school but I'm not sure of her name! But this is the definition of true educators helping students when they need to! Thank you for helping the student!"
MYSTERY SOLVED: That is Kim Ehrsam and she is wonderful to our students!

Welcome to the new Treasurer of Washington Local Schools!

PARENT SHOUT:
"I wanted to take a moment to recognize Mrs. Stace Shively (Whitmer Counselor) for the incredible support she has given my daughter. As a parent, it has meant so much to see someone go above and beyond not only academically, but emotionally as well. My daughter has worked extremely hard and has put a lot of pressure on herself academically during the college process. She has also independently navigated nearly all of her high school journey and college preparation herself, handling the communication, emails, questions, and follow-through on her own over the past four years. Because she cares so deeply about doing well and making the right decisions, there were many moments where she felt nervous, overwhelmed, or anxious, and I know she sent quite a few emails looking for reassurance or guidance.
Mrs. Shively was consistently patient, kind, encouraging, and supportive. She never made my daughter feel like a burden and always took the time to help her navigate everything with compassion and professionalism. It truly made an impact during such an important and sometimes stressful season of her life. Her stress level is extremely high and will remain I am sure until this last class is done. It makes such a difference when students have someone in their corner who genuinely cares the way she does. Whitmer is fortunate to have someone like her!
I think everyone takes the time to express negativity but I feel it is very important to express the positive that happens as well. "
Ms. Shively takes care of students from their books to their brains and we think that is BEAUTIFUL.
