Principal's Message

Welcome to Hiawatha

Albert Bernhardt
Welcome to Hiawatha Elementary, home of the Hiawatha Timber wolves!

We want to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year.  At Hiawatha Elementary, staff, parents, and students work
as a team to provide a safe, welcoming, positive learning environment that promotes success for all. We are a learning community of over 400 students and staff serving grades K-6.  Our goal at Hiawatha Elementary is to value each student that walks through our doors and to partner with our families to empower children to become compassionate citizens of our community.  Our staff works diligently to provide students with a solid foundation to become life-long learners, starting with a curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual student.  Our staff is dedicated to teaching our students critical thinking skills as part of the Ohio Learning  Standards.  Beyond teaching academics, we have made it our mission to foster students' ability to play an active role in improving our world, now and in the future.
