The folks at Hiawatha really believe it takes a village to raise a child and it shows in every way. The wonderful cafeteria manager Ms. Gaylene is the perfect example. Not only does she make EVERYONE feel so welcome and happy to be at school (teachers included), she is beyond accommodating and encouraging to all students. First grader B even gets to start his day by helping her with tasks in the kitchen. He left today with a smile and her promise that she would check in on him later.. with maybe a little snack for all his help.
