Welcome to Washington Local Schools!
The Washington Local Board of Education appointed Brian Davis as the school district's Assistant Superintendent at their August 3, 2016 meeting. Mr. Davis was a familiar face in Washington Local having served as the district's Director of Curriculum and Instruction since 2009.
With a career in education spanning 36 years, Mr. Davis has extensive teaching and administrative experience. He has held district, regional, and state-level positions throughout central and northwest Ohio, including principal, trainer, consultant, and director.
Mr. Davis began his career as an elementary school teacher, and he has taught at the collegiate level since 1997. Mr. Davis currently serves as an adjunct professor at Walsh University and Ashland University.
Mr. Davis holds his superintendent's license through Findlay University. He received both his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Arts in Education Administration from The Ohio State University. He has completed additional graduate coursework at Ashland University, Walsh University, and the University of Toledo.
OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
The Assistant Superintendent's office enforces rules and policies relating to administrators and oversees Parent Club Council, the district calendar committee and student expulsion appeals. This office handles intradistrict transfer requests, issues regarding sexual harassment, 504 compliance, custody and residency. This office also assists the Superintendent with day-to-day operations.
